green kids

Here's an illustration I just did for the April issue of Today's Parent magazine. The article is about elementary school kids going green and becoming more environmentally aware.

Wow! I love it— you've got a great signature way of seeing the world. I enjoy how you were able to weave all of the elements and shapes into the image without it becoming cuterred or confusing! You're in Cleveland? We should get coffee— I live in Akron and for a long time lived in C-Heights. I'd love to talk shop in person some time!

organizar bem os elementos da imagem geral é algo fundamental na minha modesta opinião...e voce

Michael - What an awesome piece! Congrats that it will shine in that magazine..how cool! The flow is lovely - you have a way with composition! And agreeing with everyone else, all of the details (their hairstyles, faces, coo-ool kid clothes) set this apart from the rest. I am most impressed with your ability to show so many ethnicities in a way that keeps a cohesive illustration style, yet is apparent enough, but doesn't knock the person over with exagerrations... how'd you do that so well?!

And thanks for the answer today! Great to know a bit of your process. Always a treat to see your work!

The other night my wife and I were reading in bed. She was flipping through the latest issue of Today's Parent. I happened to look over at one point, and there it was...this illustration!

I was so excited that I grabbed the magazine from her hands. It was great to see your work in print Michael.
