10 minute tidy

Here's the latest illustration I did for the upcoming December issue of Today's Parent magazine. The article points out tips on quickly tidying up when unexpected guests announce that they're about to drop by for a visit. Personally, I would just shove everything under the couch...or just not answer the door.

Terrific illustration...even the dog is helping! My dog would take the shoe so he could chew on it later.

Dig that illustration! Just wish I could use the tips. Here in Chile people don't bother announcing they're coming by. They just show up and expect onces. Sorry, that's a Chilean term for what they have instead of Supper/Dinner.

Great job Michael, hope all is well.
Eric

great illustration, I love the style of this and I'd forgotten about the "10 minute tidy" I used to use it frequently because that was about as long as I could get anyone to clean for! ;)

Michael, you are such a great designer! The layout of this piece is very easy to read and has great color and shaping! Not to mention the animation is spot on with the style.

Hey Michael! Love the new profile pick! I always knew you were a teddy bear! I also love your take on the topic!! Been there done that! Occasionally accidentally stuffed one of the kids under the couch in the 10 minute madness :o) The dad's expression is perfect! Very cool that even the dog is pitching in! The visitors must be bringing Fifi with them.

Fun. It seems that most people reading Parents magazine now, though, would associate mid-century modern with grand parents or GREAT grandparents... no?

Actually, I think I probably do it every time we expect guests ;) Thankfully our guest don't mind that much (or are very good at hiding it if they do)

You captured that hurried rush perfectly! If this was my place I'd have to quickly take down the wreath and christmas tree because they would be still up in April.

Awesomeeeeeee illustration Michael! how do you do it?? Love everything about it! Looks so hard to achieve such a perfect composition when you have so many elements in the canvas! You are a genius! :)

I kinda need your advice on something, I will send you an email with a question, I hope that's ok! :)

This is one of those illustrations that is so good, on so many levels, that people can't fully appreciate it at first glance. I don't comment on blogs - That's how good this illustration is. If there are any Illustration professors out there, I highly recommend that you use this for an example in problem solving, color, and composition.
What makes it even more amazing is that when it comes to digital work, Mr. Robertson has no idea what he is doing. He does everything wrong. I know this for a fact.
