jungle pals

I just started playing around with a new photoshop brush this week, and what started as a doodle evolved into this. I rarely use brushes in photoshop but I think I'm going to to mess around with them a little more. I like the spontaneity and unlike a real brush, there's always that 'command z' to fall back on.

This is really nice Michael. I love the character designs, the colors and the textures. Are you using a brush that came with Photoshop? or is it a third party brush? I've always been a bit intimidated by the brushes in Photoshop, they never seem to paint the way I imagine they will based on their icons. I guess that's why I prefer working in Corel Painter because their brushes are all labeled with names that give me an idea of the results I'll get when using them (i.e. chalks, pastels, ink, etc.) Anyway, keep up the good work!

An absolute delight! Glorious colours! All so natural despite it's photoshop origins! You really have a knack... boy I struggle with my Pshop brushes...still haven't cracked it to my satisfaction. Do you Cinteq screen draw or just intuos tablet...?

Hey everybody, thanks for the comments. To answer your questions Vince, Robert and Michaele, I have photoshop CS3, and the brush is one of many that were custom made by a very talented buddy of mine. He was able to create a brush that makes a beautiful jagged line. I can't wait to use it more!

Your elephant is simply adorable! I love how the brush makes him look all wrinkly, like a real elephant. Your bird is great, too. I have trouble with elephants...yours is precious!
