christmas collages

Here are a few more Christmas designs from a while back-these are all cut paper collages. I really enjoy the spontaneity of collage work. I find that if I just start cutting away without any real plan, I'm much happier with the results than if I sketch something out first.

I've never played with collage myself, but these examples really make me want to give it a whirl.

The reindeer is my favorite I think.

Great stuff Michael...I feel all jolly and merry now that I've seen these.

I agree with all the above - I like some of the patterns you used, especially in the elf and reindeer. I'd really like to see more like this, wouldn't even have to be holiday related. Merry Christmas!

You just do the most jaw dropping fabulous illustrations and now COLLAGE!!!! What a wonderful wonderland of fun and color and pattern. You have out done yourself with this cause you know how much I LOVE COLLAGE! I want to tell you what an inspiration and joy your work has been to me in the last couple of months. You have made me smile so darn big with your wonderful sense of humor and fabulous style. The joy of what you do come through in your awesome work! When work leaves me feeling happy or takes me back to a moment then that work has done it's job. I can tell that you love what you do! It shows in your work. Genius lives in your work. I always look to better myself with watching what talented people like you and Bella, Eric, and others bring to the table of creativity. I aspire to be like you. I'm not trying to flatter, but merely let you know YOU are an inspiration and a blogging mentor to me. You will never know how your comment left on my blog have touched my heart and made me smile and most of all encouraged my creativity. Thank you Michael for sharing your gift of art and your wonderful gift of friendship. I pray that you will be blessed with a wonderful and very sweet holiday!
Shalom
with many humble hugs
Vanessa

Really fun and colorful stuff! Totally agree about spontaneity being more fun, as it's sometimes much closer to the impulse to create than brainstorming.

Ups, I was sure that I let a comment days ago... I repeat: the top is great, specially the line of the nose and eyes into the shapes of color. And I have the need now of making a collage, he, he.
