This little devil's been sitting in my sketchbook all summer, so I figured I'd whip up a quick color version of him before cookout season is over. I was going to wait till we had super hot weather, but it's been an unseasonably cool summer here in Ohio. Hope everyone has one hell of a labor day weekend-get in those last few cookouts while you can.

what a perfectly devilish creature. i LOVE that he's in a shirt and tie. and that dangling cigarette is pretty darn cool. also, like that new profile illustration you're sporting.

So many great details here! Looks great mate!
Michael, Love the textures in the Background! The shaping like always is so well thought out too. Can't wait to see what you come up with next.
Cool! Pitchfork put into good use :D Nice profile pix too!
I think it would be wise not to kiss the cook this time!
Too clever!!!
I love stripes on horns, nostril and cigarette. All details are so simple and incisive.

ooohhh! excellent!
Wow, this is such a great piece! Yet again! : ) Love the palette, tones, graphic quality of all of your work. Mr. Devil even has a bit of the eye-liner there...and of course the most excellent detail here are the cigarette ashes falling right into the pit...marvelous.
Have a wonderful weekend Michael..hope you get to enjoy a great Q too!

UUUUUUOoouuuu...!!!
Muito Bom.
Wow! Your textures just bowl me over... the edges of the frame in this one, and the clouds in the EXCELLENT cat & mouse game... are they natural media scans or custome digital brushes...? Either way they are perfection! Lovely choice of colour in this too... that acid green really gives the piece the right vibe... beach party of the damned kinda thing :) The character design puts me in mind of Jim Flora, but for my money I think you manage to carry off that 'spark of life' along with your abstract shapes and patterns in the face where Jim Flora is sometimes overly graphic / abstract at the expense of the characters themselves.... phew, in short (too late) I love it :)
love the new avatar portrait by the way!
Love the design & use of colours..!
It's a good idea to put a tattoo in the head of the devil. It's suposed he's so old, that it make me think in old cultures, when tattoos where a part of their beliefs and superstitions. And the same for the black tie, nowadays most of the devils use one...
Congratulations!
Great illustration. You´ve got the devil face.
Yeah, put the devil to work! LOL Great illustration!
