worried daddy

Hi everybody! Hope everyone's having a great summer so far. I'm hoping to wrap up all my big projects by mid July, and hopefully things will return to a normal pace. I can't wait to share some of these new pieces I've been working on, but unfortunately I can't just yet.

Anyway, here's a piece I did a while back for Today's Parent magazine. The article discusses the extremes some new parents go to to make sure their baby is safe while they sleep, including spending the night on a mattress next to the crib.

Yeah, nice! Long time....
The only time I sleep on the floor mattress is when my 85 lb. greyhound decides he wants to trade sleeping spaces...

he he he he he! Oh my goodness don't I remember these days! I just love that look on his face. My brother-in-law and my good friends are having babies and they are scared out of their minds right now. Everyone is telling them horror stories about being up all night he he he he! Thanks to you Michael, now I have a visual to show them all LOL!!! This is hilarious. Great illustration. Yes indeed I am up to my freaking eyeballs in books and work and I am loving it, but I could seriously use a few weeks to myself to catch my breath and watch some Soul Train. Vintage of course. Thanks so much for stopping by. I will have my beautiful picture up in just a few. Soon as I get it back from the framers. Have a wonderful weekend Handsome.
Your Soul Sistah,
V

Michael - first of all many thanks for your lovely visit. I always enjoy seeing your fab avatar at my blog! Good to catch up!! Oh, this piece is so great- look at all of the gorgeous detail..you are just amazing. And oh I love your recent post too..so cool (soaked). I remember many nights on the floor next to my daughter's crib wishing that she'd just fall asleep peacefully - and I remember one night having to crawl (yes crawl) on my hands and knees through the door after she finally fell asleep..oh my, the lengths we tired parents take! : )

Hey Michael, how are you doing buddy?
Hehe, this is so cute! love the look on the dad's face!
And this kinds of things really do happen... When my first nephew was born, my sister used to spend the whole night awake - she just couldn't sleep - and every 15 mn she would go and make sure that he was breathing :D

Awesome illustration Michael, hope that you are well. Hugs!
